Dan: Lessons with me will help you improve your technique, your
dexterity, your speed, your confidence and will help you get to
the point where your hands and feet can easily make the things you
hear in your head happen on the drum set.
Specifically I will analyze your hand technique and recommend exercises
based on the Moeller stroke that will help you groove better and
play more dynamically and effortlessly. We'll work on exercises
that will increase your independence and we'll transcribe and recreate
memorable drum parts as well as learn songs that you may want to
play. Ultimately, the lessons are your time and we can spend them
working on what you want to work on, but all lessons will include
a concentration on improving technique.
Drummers that have inspired me the most are: Joe Bergamini (my
teacher of everything scholastically drum related that I know),
Vinnie Colaiuta, Thomas Pridgen, Steve Gadd, Jon Theodore, Neil
Peart, John Bonham, Rodney Holmes, Gavin Harrison, Danny Carey,
Steve Smith, Dom Famularo, Matt Cameron, Tim Alexander, Mike Mangini,
Terry Bozzio, Dennis Chambers, Carter Beauford, Buddy Rich, Billy
Cobham, Tony Williams...
